This course is for people who are looking forward to a career in any Public Service for instance the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services or Armed Forces.

This is a one year course and involves the study and production of six units.

Some of the units covered include

• Expedition skills
• Public Service skills
• Uniformed Public Service fitness
• Land navigation wit map and compass

Final grades are based on the assessment of completed units. There are no written examinations involved; you will be assessed both practically and through written tasks and assignments.

You can achieve a pass, merit or distinction in this course.

This course offers you the opportunity explore the work of the Public Services. Students have the opportunity to have contact with many serving Public Service workers; to participate in expeditions on Dartmoor; complete work experience and interact with the Armed Forces through organised visits.
