Sociology
Sociology is one of the most popular courses in Sixth Forms and Universities.
You will study how society works and why people behave the way they do.

You will discover the answers to many questions:
• Why do people behave as they do?
• Who really holds the power in this country?
• Can we rely on statistical information?
The aims of the course are to give you the skills necessary to make sense of the way societies work, and to prepare you for life outside School. Sociology is useful in many areas of life and in many careers, for example, police, teaching, medicine, public services.
The AS coursework is 1200 words and A2 is 3500 words. Both are linked to the topics we study. You will find Sociology helps you to understand the world around you and equips you for the future with confidence and social skills.
