Film Studies


Film Studies is a challenging and interesting course that is designed to deepen students’ understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film – the major art form of the twentieth century. Introduced at Westlands in 2007, the course is proving to be and extremely popular choice for our Sixth Form students.

You will study a wide range of different kinds of films; developing skills of observation, critical analysis an on significant film movements, it is intended that an interest in film culture will be fostered forever.

At AS Level you will study three units of work, sitting two exams throughout the year.  You will learn

 

At A2 Level you will study three units of work, sitting two exams throughout the year.  You will complete a ‘small scale’ research project and focus on a practical task.  You will also study
