The BTEC National Award in Music is designed to provide a specialist work related qualification, which is recognised by employers and universities alike.
This course involves the production and study of six units that focus on particular aspects of employment in the music industry.
The final grade of pass, merit or distinction is based on the successful completion of the six units and there are no examinations involved.
The six units are split into three core units and three specialist units.
The core units are
- music performance techniques
- Planning a music project
- Music project
The specialist units are
- Working and developing as a musical ensemble
- Improvising music
- Pop music in practice
This course is suitable for all students who wish to pursue a vocationally relevant qualification and career in music related sectors.
